5 More Minutes

Looking at the forecast this week and I see a lot of rain. Nothing is better on a rainy day than hot chocolate and good music!

This hat is made out of a yarn blend of acrylic and wool. It's in the color raspberry pink, but is also available in cobalt blue here.

=measurements=
the base of the hat measures approximately 6'' but will stretch to fit most head sizes.

the hat is about 9" tall from base to top (NOT including the pom pom)

I use my own pattern for all my products, but remember, each hat is handmade and unique!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I think today was the first day I experienced single digit temperatures. NOT FUN. I know it's too late to be getting Valentine's Day gifts this year, but every day is a day to celebrate love! I have a few new designs that should be posted this week, and they'll probably be the last set of designs for this winter season.

Anyways I decided to have a new post up (at least) every Sunday. These posts will consist of updates, DIYS, look books, and more! Soooooo, stay tuned!

Warm regards,
Michelle <3

Woolie is Open!

Wow. Everything happened so fast I really wasn't ready for it all. I opened my shop without advertising it, and somehow the word got out. So yay! I got my first four sales! I kept pushing it off because I always thought I wasn't "ready," but I realized I never would be completely "ready." I have to start somewhere, and somewhere is here! There's not a lot of listings YET, but I'm working on it and I can't wait to watch this grow!

Warm regards,

Love Me Do

=the story=
Because my store is just starting out, I can't list hats in as many colors as I would like. But for my first set of designs, I wanted at least one of them to be a one colored beanie. I chose red because it's the perfect color to add a little something to a simple outfit. I used to hate wearing the color red; I thought it was too much (whatever that means). I started to love the color when I began to love myself. I think a lot of times learning to love yourself means being able to step out of your comfort zone. And what better way to start than by adding a pop of color to your wardrobe!

This is a very chunky knit beanie. You can wear it slightly off your head for a slouchy look, or down to your forehead for a tight fit. It's perfect for cold winter days to keep your ears warm, and not to mention it's a cute accessory to add to your outfit! Its basic design even allows for it to be unisex.

First Day of Snow

=the story=
I got the whole idea of Woolie from the changes of moving from California to the east coast. My first blizzard was nothing like I imagined. Whenever I watched the news from home, the storms looked horrifying. Don't get me wrong, it was. But to my surprise, it was also able to bring so much joy. Bad weather makes the perfect day to get cozy in your room with a movie and hot chocolate. I was also surprised how fast they clear the roads. I loved seeing the community come together to shovel their cars out of the snow (I never appreciated my car so much) and help each other get through blocked roads. After the storm cleared, I went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to sled down the steps. Even though we were all strangers to each other, everyone got together to give an extra push down the snow, or a hand when someone slipped. Even though the holidays were well over, the snow brought holiday moods back.

Design I

=the story=
I'm super excited to share my first design in my etsy shop! I named this hat "Design I" because it represents my first quarter in college. One of the classes I took was called Design 1, which was all about black and white/grayscale design. The purpose of this course was to teach the students basic concepts of design such as value, texture, shape, and space.  Although at times this class felt useless and mundane, by the end of the 10-week course, I realized that it was an important foundation to everything I will learn about design from now on. I want this hat to be the same for my store. This is a very basic design, but it's the beginning of all the creative products I will produce in the future!
